About Excel to PDF

Excel to PDF turns each sheet of your workbook into PDF pages. Cell colours, fonts, borders, merged cells, column widths and row heights are kept, and wide sheets are scaled to fit the page width. You can convert all sheets or only the one you choose, and show or hide the gridlines.

A live preview shows the finished PDF page by page, with page buttons, zoom and thumbnails, and Preview final PDF opens every page at full size so you can check the result before saving. The PDF shows the values that were saved in the file, so formulas appear as their last calculated results. Charts and pictures inside the workbook are not included. CSV and OpenDocument (.ods) files are supported too.

Frequently asked questions

Can I see the PDF before I download it?

Yes. The live preview is the finished PDF itself. Use the arrows or thumbnails to move between pages, zoom in, or open Preview final PDF to scroll every page at full size.

Are formulas calculated?

The PDF shows the values saved in the file, which are the results Excel last calculated.

Are charts and pictures included?

Not yet. Cells, text and formatting are converted; charts and pictures are left out. The page tells you when your workbook contains any.

My sheet is very wide. What should I do?

Wide sheets are scaled to fit the page width automatically. Choosing landscape orientation, or a larger page such as A3, gives them more room.

Can I convert just one sheet?

Yes. Choose the sheet in the Sheets list and the preview updates.

Is my spreadsheet uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser.

Does it support CSV?

Yes. CSV files are opened as a simple table. Old .xls and .ods files work too, although colours and borders are most complete for .xlsx files.
