How to cut out an image from a PDF
- Open your PDF. Hover over any picture inside it: logos, stamps and photos get a dashed outline.
- Drag the picture to lift it out. It stays exactly where it is until you move it. If one picture holds several things, such as an emblem, a logo and a banner, only the part under your pointer is lifted and highlighted. Right-click it for more options: Copy, Duplicate, Replace, Remove or Cut out the whole picture.
- Scanned page or a picture that is not detected? Press Cut out in the toolbar and drag a box around the area. It is cut out as a movable image.
- Download the new PDF.
Clean cut-outs
When the area around a logo or stamp matches the page background, PDFEditKaro removes that background so you get a clean cut-out with transparent edges, much like an object cutter. Photos and areas with their own background stay rectangular. The spot you cut from is filled with the surrounding color, so the page looks unchanged until you move the piece.
Cut-outs are captured at high resolution, up to about 2,400 pixels on the longest side, so they stay sharp when you resize them. Everything is done in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
Good to know
- A cut-out is a picture of that area, so any text inside it becomes part of the picture and can no longer be edited as text.
- The original is covered, not erased, and still exists inside the file. For permanent removal, use Redact.
- Use this only on documents you own or may change. Do not use it to alter ID cards, certificates or other official records.

FAQ
Does the picture stay in place until I move it?
Yes. Pictures show a dashed outline when you hover over them, but nothing changes until you drag one or choose an option.
Can I cut out part of a scanned page?
Yes. Press Cut out and drag a box around the area. It becomes a movable image, and the spot it came from is filled with the surrounding color.
Why does my cut-out have a rectangle around it?
The background is only removed when the edges of the area match the page background. Photos and busy backgrounds keep their rectangle.
Is the original really gone?
It is covered but still inside the file. To remove it permanently, use Redact.
What if pictures overlap each other?
Click an item and use To front or To back in the toolbar, or right-click it for Bring forward and Send backward. Ctrl+] and Ctrl+[ move it one layer, and adding Shift goes all the way. Right-click also offers Select item underneath for items hidden behind another.
A line around my page broke when I moved a picture. How do I fix it?
Open Shapes and choose Repair broken line, then drag along the gap from one end of the line to the other. It draws a straight line that copies the colour, thickness and position of the line next to it. If the line was part of the picture itself, it can be rebuilt the same way.
Can I undo a cut-out?
Yes. Press Ctrl+Z or the undo button, and the area goes back as it was.
