How to add an image to a PDF

  1. Open your PDF.
  2. Press Image and choose a JPG, PNG or WebP file. You can also drop an image file onto the page.
  3. Position it. Drag the picture where you want it. Use the corner handles to resize, and the toolbar to duplicate or delete it.
  4. Download the new PDF.

What it is good for

Add a company logo to a letterhead, a passport photo to an application, a stamp or seal to an invoice, or a scanned signature to an agreement. Phone photos are kept the right way up automatically, and PNG pictures with a transparent background stay transparent, so a logo sits cleanly on the page.

Pictures are placed at their original quality, with very large images scaled down to a sensible size so that your PDF does not become huge. You can add as many images as you like, on any page.

FAQ

Which image formats can I add?

JPG, PNG and WebP, and most other pictures your browser can open. PNG and WebP transparency is kept.

Can I add an image to any page?

Yes. Scroll to the page you want before pressing Image. The picture is placed in the middle of what you can see, and you can drag it anywhere.

Will the image quality drop?

No. Pictures are embedded at their original quality, except very large images, which are scaled down to about 2,400 pixels on the longest side.

Is my picture uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser.

Can I replace or remove a picture that is already in the PDF?

Yes. Hover over the picture in Edit mode, click it, and choose Replace, Move / resize or Remove. The old picture is covered with the surrounding color. For permanent removal, use Redact.
